Before that I was Head of Engineering at SalesTier, and the first engineering hire at Wayflyer, which went on to become a unicorn fintech. I contributed to the Node.js core and helped write the OpenJS Node.js certification. I'm interested in open source, AI systems, and occasionally write about both.
Experience
Responsible for the architecture and delivery of AI-integrated solutions for enterprise customers. Delivered knowledge agent systems that saw strong adoption, and work across the AI stack: LLM tooling, RAG, hybrid search, and agentic development. Finalist in the Sun Life Awards for Innovation.
Founding team member of a beverage industry software startup. Led engineering across the product while managing enterprise customer relationships. Built an ML-powered image recognition pipeline for a Fortune 500 client's Irish sales operations.
First engineering hire at a pre-seed fintech that grew into a unicorn. Helped set the engineering culture and built across the full stack: Python/Django backend, TypeScript/React frontend, AWS CDK infrastructure.
Joined as an intern and progressed to Senior Engineer and Tech Lead across multiple client engagements. Became a Node.js core maintainer/collaborator, contributed LTTng tracing support to the Node.js source, and helped develop the OpenJS Foundation's Node.js certification programme.
